1. Two teams of three and one scorekeeper. The three players sit in rows of desks opposite the three opposing players desks; the scorekeeper sits at one end of the line of desks.
2. Each team will have a deck of indefinite pronoun cards. The two decks are different in color.
3. The scorekeeper will deal each team its deck of cards FACE DOWN until all cards are distributed RANDOMLY among that team. Keep the cards face down.
4. After both decks have been dealt, the team with the student who has the next birthday coming up goes first.
5. The player nearest the scorekeeper turns his first card over and places it on the chart according to whether it is “Always Singular,” “Always Plural,” or “Depends on the Object of the Preposition Following It.” No one may say anything until the play is over, and the card cannot be moved after it is placed. If the rules are broken, the team forfeits play and loses two points.
6. Correct answers score 1 point. Incorrect answers lose 2 points. The scorekeeper will use the KEY CHART to determine correctness before awarding or deducting points from the team.
7. After each card is scored, turn it face down on the chart so that others cannot see the answers.
8. The player opposite the last player goes next; play continues to rotate in the same order until all cards are gone.
9. After each round, the scorekeeper moves to the third position on the losing team, and the player from that team in the first position becomes the new scorekeeper.
