Position and Candidate:

We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our team at our head offices.Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the candidate will be responsible for full cycle accounting for specified projects. The ideal candidate will have an interest in construction and real estate. They will also want to broaden that knowledge gaining a better understanding of the land development industry. (S)he will want to grow within the department to learn and advance their career. (S)he must be organized, have the capabilities to prioritize work, meet deadlines, multi task and problem solve. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and work autonomously.


Include but are not limited to:

• Full cycle accounting pertaining to specified projects

• Accounts payable: matching, data entry, cheque runs, reconciling vendor accounts

• Accounts receivable: entering residential unit sales, preparing GST remittances

• Bank and loan account reconciliations

• Journal entries and intercompany transactions

• Bank deposits and payments

• Month end and year end procedures

• Assist accounting team with any special projects

• Organization of physical accounting files

• Help with any business administration that is required

• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting

• CPA or CGA or in the later stages of pursuing an accounting designation

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role

• 2 to 3 years of experience in real estate/construction industry is an asset

• Experience with Sage 300 CRE is an asset

•Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of accounting practices, and GAAP

• Strong computer skills andknowledgeable in Microsoft Office

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
