As a team member in the graduate level Instructional Technology Immersion Program at George Mason University, I participated in the development of an online Electronic Performance Support System for the Virginia Department of Education, while earning a graduate degree. During the yearlong program, I gained hands-on experience in the Instructional System Design approach utilizing pedagogical models and learning theories.

My training and development experience includes:

As a project coordinator at ASTD, I have exhibited project management skills in implementing and overseeing activities in the Benchmarking Forum (BMF) and the Benchmarking Service (BMS). Daily communications with BMF members, assisting in member recruiting, budgeting, developing marketing materials, distributing and collating surveys and survey data and managing the BMF Member’s Only Website. Responsible for successfully planning and coordinating Benchmarking Forum meetings (in the United States and abroad) which included developing budgets, securing speakers and venues, developing agendas, facilitating meetings, and evening events.

As a volunteer for Byte Back, a non-profit organization, I have gained experience training adult immigrants (Africa, Europe, and South-America), and have had the opportunity to present at ASTD’s 2001International Conference.

In my role as Assistant Neighborhood Director of the non-profit organization “Neighborhood Housing Service,” I developed budgets, wrote proposals for development, managed volunteers, and staff, developed marketing materials, and planned and coordinated fundraising events. Working closely with D.C. government employees, boards, business owners, community organizations, and elected officials to coordinate neighborhood activities, seminars, and special events. At Artery Property Management and Personnel Plus, I was responsible for developing and overseeing yearly budgets and generating new business. I have been responsible for advertising budgets, administrative and sales budgets, supervising staff of sales and administrative personnel, generating revenue, and developing operations manuals.

Previous marketing positions have helped me develop skills in planning, design, cold calling, and presenting. I have generated over a half million dollars in sales during my years as a sales representative. I have marketed insurance, computer and office supplies, automobiles, and temporary services.

Excellent communication skills have been an asset during my many travels abroad and throughout the United States, promoting the Benchmarking Forum to executives of Fortune 100 and 500 companies. I have had the opportunity to facilitate meetings, give presentations, and work closely with committees and members. I have a unique ability to be able to communicate with people at various levels within an organization.
