Hennepin County recognizes 81 worksites for worksite wellness
Eighty-one organizations in Hennepin County received the 2015 Wellness by Design Award for excellence in worksite wellness on June 25. The award recognizes organizations that make employee health a priority through creative and effective wellness initiatives.
Hennepin County Commissioner Marion Greene spoke at the award ceremony held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center. She noted thatintegration of wellness into the overall worksite culture is key to the success of a wellness initiative. Guest speaker Nancy Lyons, President/CEO of Clockwork Active Media, provided insights into how their organizationhas embraced employee wellbeing and incorporated it into the essence of their company’s culture.
Wellness by Design Awards are presentedto Hennepin County employers that demonstrate accomplishments in management support,wellness infrastructure, assessment, evaluation, communication, andprogramming. New this year was a “+Green” designation for companies that minimize their impact on the environment. Fifty-three of the 81 Wellness by Design recipients received the “+Green” designation.
