POST TITLE:RLSS Trainer Assessor – Training

RESPONSIBLE TO:Training and Development Manager

EMPLOYEE SUPERVISION:None

DETAILS OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Purpose and Main Aims

  1. To plan, develop and deliver a high standard of regular ongoing training to qualified NPLQ employees at various BPL venues.

2.To plan, develop and deliver a high standard of training to candidates on the NPLQ training courses at various BPL venues.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. To deliver a high standard of regular ongoing training to qualifiedNPLQ employees as well as candidates undertaking an NPLQ courseat various BPL venues.
  1. To maintain membership with the RLSS or other relevant awarding body.
  1. To maintain accurate administration and record keeping, ensuring all documentation has been completed correctly and that employees are meeting the required standards.
  1. To report and provide feedback to the Training and Development Manager when necessary.
  1. To keep up to date with new developments, trends and practices, that are specifically relevant to the NPLQ as well as industry changes within BPL.

8.To take responsibility for Health and Safety, including all those attending ongoing training or courses and to any issues as appropriate.

9.To proactively take responsibility for standards of any equipment used in support of training by carrying out before and after use inspection, for example, ensuring that it is maintained and ready for use, and to report any faults to the site Manager and Training and Development Manager.

10.To attend employee meetings, as well as internal and external training when deemed appropriate by the Training and Development Manager.

And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.

Training / RLSS Trainer Assessor Qualification including AED
Current RLSS Membership
RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
ASA/STA Swimming Teachers Certificate
HSE First Aid Certificate or equivalent / 

Other / Level of physical capability required to patrol the pool, set up and move equipment etc.
Ability to work within a pool environment where temperatures may be high.
Full Driving License and be prepared to travel between various BPL venues. / 

Information to Candidates on Employment Terms and Conditions

The following details outlining some of the main Terms and Conditions of Employment are for information only. They do not constitute a contractual agreement. A full Contract of Employment will be issued to the successful applicant on appointment.

1.Working Hours

The normal hours of work will bediscussed at interview but are to be worked to suit the needs of the service which may include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

2.HolidaysThere are 20 days annual leave from 1 April to 31 March each year plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time staff). Staff appointed part way through a holiday year will receive a proportionate entitlement.

3.Salary

The rate of pay will be up to £14.13 per hour.

4.Pension

There is eligibility to join the BPL Friends Life Pension Scheme.

  1. Probationary Period

All new appointments are subject to a probationary period of 6 months during which time suitability for the position appointed will be assessed.

6.Notice Period

The notice period that will operate on both sides to terminate the Contract will be one month or, on the employer side, one week for every year of service (to a maximum of 12 weeks) if this is greater.

7.Appointment

Appointments made are subject to satisfactory to the employer of a health clearance and two references.
