JEREMIAH 4:23-26 and GENESIS 1:2

Jeremiah addresses his prophecy to Judah and Jerusalem and foretells what will happen if they do not repent, turn back to God and give up their idolatry and worship of demons.

Four chapters into the book we have this passage which reflects Genesis 1:2.

Jeremiah 23-26 / Genesis 1:2
23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, (it was) without form, and void; and the heavens, and they (had) no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, (there was) no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place (was) a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, (and) by his fierce anger. / And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness (was) upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The time that passed between Genesis 1 verses 1 and 2 may be untold millions of years. This we know from the geological evidence of the earth. An aid to understanding this is that the first wasin verse 2 should read became, as in:

Gen. 2:7 (and man became a living soul);

Gen. 9:15 (and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh);

Gen 19:26 (but his [Lot’s] wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt);

plus other passages where it is translated both become, became, came to pass.

Can it be then that Jeremiah 4 23-26 and Genesis 1:2 are bothtimes of judgement?

If you carry on reading to end then of Jer. 4 you will notice some similarities with Revelation 12.

We know thatprophecy in the Old Testament has a partial fulfillment at the time written, but it also has a final fulfilment, often in a time referred to as The Lord’s Day. The rest of the Jeremiah 4 came to pass in part when the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem were taken into captivity inBabylonand with the destruction of the city and temple, but it is also similar to the events described in Revelation 12.

See also Isaiah 24:1 for another example of judgement and laying waste the earth.

Red Letter Bibles

Those Bibles with Christ’s words printed in blood red

Completely miss other words that Christ has also said.

Colouring those spoke while upon earth with the eleven

Miss those He before and has since spoken from heaven.

Christ is God and has always been as His Word in view.

Jehovah of the Old Testament is now Christ of the new.

The Bible is inspired of God through men of the spirit.

It follows that when God spoke, it has the Word in it.

The Word created the heavens and earth’s land, sea and coasts.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob created earth’s teeming hosts.

At sundry times in diverse manners He spoke by prophets of old.

Then in these last days spoken in son, the image of the mould.

God’s heir, brightness of His glory, and image of His very person.

Upholding all things by His powerful word, His manifest assertion.

It follows then that “Let us make man in the image of our likeness,” said,

And “Let there be light,” and others alike should be printed in red.

Those red letter Bibles would then exist as nearly all words red.

All that Paul received by revelation were words that Christ said.

If we print red His words that He spoke on earth with the eleven.

Truth bids to print red Christ’s words that He spoke from heaven.
