Dear Prospective Donor,

The annual St. Louis Catholic Church, three-day fundraising Festival for the Poor will be held on March 31st- April 2nd, 2017. The church parishioners are already busy with preparations to make this an event to remember. Approaching our fourth decade, St. Louis Catholic Church has held this fundraising event to help those with the most needs in the Miami-Dade communities. To date, we have raised more than $1,990,000. This unique family festival contributes 100% of all profits directly to local charities and agencies that feed, clothe, counsel, and house children, single adults, and families. Our parishioners painstakingly donate thousands of hours to organize, operate, and ensure the success of this festival. Now is the time to consider adding the Festival for the Poor to your list of sponsorships. Due to its enormous success each year and the ability to directly impact those in need, sponsorship opportunities go fast. It is a wonderful opportunity to be associated with an organization that can positively affect the lives of so many people in our community.

The festival includes international food booths, games, rides, arts and crafts booths, raffles, silent auction, a 5K run/walk, a dinner dance, live entertainment and many other exciting age and family-appropriate activities. The event attracts both St. Louis Catholic Church's parish and Covenant School, which includes more than 2000 families, as well as thousands of other families from surrounding areas. Several weeks prior to the event, flyers, posters, and newsprint advertisements are circulated to ensure that each day the event will be substantially well attended. We are anticipating the 2017 event to be a record year for attendance.

Although the economy is doing better than in recent years, those that were most adversely affected by the hard economic downturn are still facing difficult times. It is our goal to help these less fortunate individuals. We have witnessed, firsthand, the impact that we can have to help bridge the gap for the needy in our local community. Past recipients of the festival's proceeds, to name just a few, have included:

·  Habitat for Humanity - Hands-on building of affordable housing for all.

·  Camillus House - Provides humanitarian services for the homeless.

·  Saint Ann's Mission - housing, education and support for Migrant farmers and families.

·  Catholic Charities – Undocumented Minors program.

·  JAM Foundation- Raises awareness of adolescent suicide.

·  Jackson's Project Cradle - County hospital program to prevent AIDS in newborns.

·  Kristi House - Dedicated to healing and eradicating child sexual abuse.

·  Sisters of Charity- Provides shelter and counseling for homeless women and children.

·  A Safe Haven for Newborns-Dedicated to eliminating the ultimate in infant abuse, abandonment, through ducation, prevention, direct assistance and grass roots community involvement.

·  Humanities Food Bank – Serving those in need in the South Dade Community.

We need your help. Your financial sponsorship of this event will help us in securing vendors, rides, and the other special features that make the festival so unique and successful. Please help us build a stronger community. Your participation in this event is crucial and so greatly appreciated. As a reminder, all donations are completely tax deductible. Any donation, big or small is valued. It takes a village to change the face of poverty; Together, we can and will make a difference. Thank you for your anticipated support in helping the most vulnerable of our Miami-Dade neighbors.

Sincerely,

Betty Quinn
