SCIENCE BINDER LETTER

The science notebook will increase your knowledge of science by:
- Using writing as a process for discovery and synthesis of inquiry.
- Molding the many functions of scientists – recording information, data, and experimental diagrams.
- Improve your ability to organize ideas and information; providing a study reference for each unit, and using it for review for tests.
- Demonstrating to your teacher and parents your developing organization skills, understanding of science concepts and your ability to express thoughts and feelings in a variety of ways.
- Deepening the science skills acquired in prior years.
- The Science Binder is to go home nightly for study and review. Brought back to school daily.
Required:
- Notebook binder,2 inch rings, divided as a 5 subject binder . One notebook will suffice for the year. The five divisions are to be divided as follows: first; Class Notes, second; Unit workbooks, third; Handouts, forth; Vocabulary words and definitions, fifth; daily science.
- Red pen and pencils (pencil bag). Metric ruler. Highlighter. Extra lined notepaper. Small scissors,
- Class Notes section will contain a composition notebook for notes only. See teacher example.
- This letter will be placed into the back of the notebook after signing by you and your parents.
- Notebooks will be teacher graded regularly for completeness and neatness once a month.
- Staying current with all entries in the notebook is vital to your success in science. Coming in after school is the best way to stay caught up especially when absent. Appointments must be made with you teacher.
- Notebook is to be used for Science only and taken home nightly for study.
