Full Time French teacher, Levels I – IV
- Created and developed curriculum for French classes (levels I, II, II, IV). Do not use a textbook. Emphasis in all classes is placed on functional proficiency in a communicative context. The instructional approach makes use of authentic resources, is designed to facilitate interaction with others, and offers opportunities to explore, develop, and use other subject content, communication strategies, learning strategies, critical thinking skills, and skills in technology as well as the appropriate elements of the language system and culture. Extensive use of performance based assessments is made at all levels.
- Wrote district foreign language curriculum maps (French and Spanish, levels I-IV)
- Participated in collaborative epal , web log and podcasting project (French III/IV) with an English teacher and her classes in Rouen, France
- Developed and maintain fairly extensive web site and wiki for students and teachers of French
- Initiated a cross level French teaching project between French III/IV students and 4th grade classes at the primary school (maintained in collaboration with 4th grade teachers)
- Piloted ODE model lesson plans, 2004
- Currently piloting Ohio Linguafolio (portfolio assessment)
- Received a grant to obtain Ipods to be used for a variety of projects in upper level French classes
- Led a student tour group in France in summer 2006
- Led a student trip – immersion weekend at Concordia Language Villages in Minnesota, April 2008
