PART-TIME POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:Electronics Technology Lab Assistant - Part-Time LOCATION:Thomaston

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:A diploma from a regionally accredited private or public postsecondary college in electronics or closely related field OR three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years. Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the electronics technology instructional program. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Associate’s degree strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision demonstrates the use of appropriate techniques for setting up labs and helping students with lab work. Demonstrates ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds, learning styles and various ages ranging 16 and up; ability to clearly explain electrical theory as well as troubleshooting applications (schematic diagrams, circuit construction, etc.); working knowledge of test equipment (Multimeter, Dual-Trace Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Frequency Generator, etc.); knowledge, understanding and background of direct currents, alternating currents, digital circuitry, solid state technology, communication systems (AM/FM , Microwave technology, Fiber-optic Communication); and knowledge of industrial safety standards. Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with industry and institutional safety guidelines. Assists in maintaining documentation of student activities regarding the Electronics Technology curriculum. Assists in promoting Electronics Technology program. Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.

SALARY/BENEFITS: This is a part-time position without insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week. Hourly rate is commensurate with education and work experience.
