Bio121L supplies:
For media:
1. 20% Tween 80 stock solution. 100ml, filter sterile, split into two tubes
2. 40% glycerol stock. Autoclave to sterilize. Give a steril 50 m aliquot to TA
3. Carbenicillin stock. TA will need an aliquot (5 ml should be fine for the TA)
4. Cyclohexamide stock. TA will need an aliquot (5 ml should be fine for the TA)
5. 7H9 neat. At least 10 aliquots of 50 ml each so that students can make top agar, and also a 500ml aliquot that we can use for making up liquid cultures for classroom use.
6. 2 x TA. At least 10 sterile aliquots in 100ml bottles.
7. L-Agar (+CB, CHX) plates. 4 Liters to begin with. These should be allowed to dry for ~ 4days before storing in the cold.
8. Phage buffer
Equipment and supplies:
1. Each pair of students will share:

-thumb operated pipetors suitable for 5 and 25 ml pipets
2. refrigerators for storing plates and phage samples.
3. 37° plate incubator
4. shaking water bath (initially 2, only 1 later on)
5. 55° water bath for top agar

7. biohazard stations for discarding plates, testubes, tips and pipets
8. handsoap and disinfectant for benches
9. afterhours access to lab for students
10. parafilm
11. 0.22 um filters (at least 100; VWR cat. # 28145-501)
12. 1ml and 3(or5)ml sterile syringes
13. tips for pipetmen
14. 5ml and 25ml plastic, disposable pipets (at least a case of 5ml pipets)
15. 15 and 50ml falcon tubes
16. steriflip or tube top filtration devices (for ~50ml samples)
17. 1.5 microcentrifuge tubes

19. -20° freezer for storing enzymes and DNA samples
