Men’s Game of the Week – Comanche vs. Khanmen (B League)

In a strange game that was stopped numerous times (thanks Fairfax County) the Comanche staged a furious comeback to defeat the Khanmen 38-37. The Khanmen looked to have the game in hand as the Comanche couldn’t hit the broad side of a bus during the first half and most of the second half. However, the Khanmen were never able to establish a substantial lead and let the Comanche hang around. With less than 10 seconds to go in the game, the Khanmen missed some free throws and the Comanche got the ball down by 2. Stellatos took a three at the buzzer that hit the rim, bounced up and IN! A devastated Khan said after the game, “Our plan was to foul to prevent the three from even going up. Instead he got a wide open look”. Stellatos finished with 12 and Siddiqui added 8. Miller had 13 while Khan added 9 for the Khanmen.

Ladies Game of the Week – Wolves vs. Grippers

The Wolves found this out the hard way and got everything they could handle from the Grippers in this key ladies game. In the end, the Grippers hung on for the tough 1-point win, 38 to 37. Charlotte Kainth led the way for the Grippers with 18 while Nicole Kiffe added 8. Kaitlyn Conboy had her usual fine shooting performance with 26 for the Wolves.
