LABORDE HOSTS MITSUBISHI TRAINING SEMINAR

Part of providing the right products, the right service and the right support to customers means ensuring they have the best materials and most up-to-date training possible. To help facilitate this, Laborde Products hosted a Mitsubishi engine training event for its North American dealers. The three-day seminar took place in Covington, Louisiana.

The company welcomed representatives from all over the continent. Boatswains Locker, Mack Boring & Parts Company, Inc., Sansom Equipment Limited, Frontier Power and Hatton Marine all had participants in attendance. Ted Hahn, vice president of Mitsubishi Engine North America also came to the seminar.

Literature packets, including engine specification sheets and technical drawings were given to all training participants. Discussion topics included installation procedures and the importance of both post-sales maintenance and crew training.

The training seminar ensures dealers are well educated and up-to-date on Mitsubishi engines. It's very valuable to many dealers.

"The amount of planning and effort everybody in the organization had done prior to this meeting was apparent and the success was mainly due to Laborde's preparation," said Wyatt Lane of Mack Boring. "The information provided, including slides, data sheets, presentations and thumb drive is a huge help and I have already gone through it with another sales team

member from my company that wasn't able to attend. I also plan to share this information when I visit dealerships, so everyone can have the same high-level of product knowledge."

"We had a good exchange of ideas over three days," said Doug Oehrlein, Laborde's VP of sales and marketing. "It's part of our goal at the seminar to not only share our approach to selling Mitsubishi engines, but also make dealers aware of some of the common installation and service missteps we've seen over the years. We want to ensure our dealers are providing the right service to the right products to benefit their business and their customers."

In addition to gaining a wealth of Mitsubishi product knowledge, attendees enjoyed South Louisiana cuisine. King Cake was also served each morning.

Laborde Products, Inc. is the largest Mitsubishi Marine distributor in North America with a far-reaching territory from Texas to Florida and New Orleans to Minneapolis. Excellent for the extremely heavy-duty tug and push boat applications, Mitsubishi engines typically offer significantly larger displacement and more mass. Extremely easy to maintain, each cylinder has its own head and the engine has large inspection covers on the crankcase and oil pan. The other great advantage with Mitsubishi engines is that they are all EPA compliant, but with mechanical governors. No complex electronics are required to meet the emission standards.
