2015Assignment Overview

You will be creating a top-secret file to send back to Washington DC for President Thomas Jefferson. The file will contain important documents and materials about your discoveries in the newly explored Louisiana Territory. Below are the important material contained in your packet:

  1. Your finished product will have of 4 different items:
  2. An enveloped labeled top secret and address to President Jefferson,
  3. Nature sketch with notations or a map of the explored territory (choose one)
  4. (10)Different information cards with a paragraph and photo (or image).
  5. One reference cited card with at least 3 different sources used.
  6. Your work should be historically accurate reflecting research.
  7. Summaries should be typed and in paragraph form (5-7 sentences) posted on 5 x 8note cards.
  8. Each card should be classified into one of the five categories. (See below)
  9. The photos on each card should be clear, colorful, and usecolor matting.
  1. Labeled 8 x 10 Envelope–Label and Decorateyour envelopeto make it look like an authentic envelope. The envelope shouldbe addressed to President Jefferson and also include your name, class period, and date.
  2. Sketchwith Notations- Hand drawnor simulated sketch of wildlife or plant materialwith several notes about the specimen. (looks authentic)
