Tutor - Business Admin, Customer Service,Retail

Job Description

Reporting to either the Training co-ordinator or the Centre Manager the main purpose of this post is to manage and deliver training and assessment toyoung people and adults in a range of locations in the specified discipline(s).

Main Duties:

  1. Plan and deliver high quality (grade 2) training sessions.
  2. Visit learners in the workplace and assessing / tutoring them in their NVQ qualifications
  3. Creating and maintaining high quality learner portfolios
  4. Planning and implementing initial assessments and course reviews with learners
  5. Ensure full schemes of work, lesson plans and relevant resources are available for each session
  6. Support with employer engagement by identifying and growing placement opportunities within the relevant sectors.
  7. Contribute to on-going development of materials, resources and curriculum in line with organisational, funding and Awarding Body requirements.
  8. Achieve set targets in terms of recruitment, retention, achievement and progression of learners.
  9. Maintain effective and efficient administration systems. Provide reports as required internally and externally.
  10. To provide internal verifying and moderation as required.
  11. Attend and contribute to local, regional and national team meetings as required.
  12. Liaise with external agencies as required.
  13. Undertake regular supervisions and observations as required.
  14. Ensure all work carried out is done to the best interests of CSV Springboard and our learners and help promote the work and reputation of the organisation at all times.
  15. Comply with all CSV Springboard policies and procedures.
  16. Promote and maintain a safe learning environment with special reference to health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding and equality and diversity.
  17. Undertake other duties, when reasonably required by their Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Essential Criteria

  1. Relevant vocational experience in business admin, retail and customer service.
  2. A1, D32/33, TAQA L3 Qualified
  3. Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/PTTLS/DTLSS) or willingness to work towards.
  4. Minimum 2 years experience of planning, delivering andaccessing learning to young people, including the development of individual learning plans.
  5. Experience of working within and embedding quality assurance in teaching and learning.
  6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  7. Ability to achieve set targets within specified timeframes.
  8. Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT Skills
  9. Good team working skills and ability to work independently and take responsibility for own areas of work.
  10. Ability to motivate, enthuse and develop positive attitudes in young people and support them to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
  11. An understanding of and commitment to Safeguarding and equality and diversity.

This role will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check being completed..

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience of working with disadvantaged young people and adults in a training environment would be highly advantageous.
  2. Knowledge and experience of delivering within local area/community.
  3. Educated to degree level or equivalent

Terms and Conditions

Hours: 35 per week

Salary:£22,923 includes LW

Holidays:24 days per year plus public holidays pro rata
