Dear Parents
It’s been a while since your last School Association Newsletter, so we’ll need you to get your calendars and pencils out before we start!
The usual bit: We try to meet each month and the meetings are held in school. These meetings are open to all those associated with the school and our next meeting is the all-important AGM on Wednesday 16th March at 7:30pm. Please join us.
The good bit: We have some really exciting stuff to tell you about! Last term the association paid for a set of drums and we organised those amazing Christmas gifts. We also paid for coaches to the panto and Young Voices. This term we are fundraising for some expensive projects; look out for news of a design technology week for the whole school, secondary glazing to the class 4 windows and there are discussions about investing in a canopy and outdoor activities for class 2. This will cost a lot, several thousand pounds, but so we need some serious support from all of you…
Coming Up:
AGM: Wednesday 16th March 7:30pm
This year we are saying goodbye to our much loved treasurer and vice chair. If you have any interest in becoming a member of the association, in a role or simply as a much needed volunteer, please consider coming along. We only ask that you help out where you can; we're all busy people but when we share the workload we can achieve great things.
School Disco: Thursday 11th Feb 6 – 7:30pm
The kids all love the school disco and this one will be no different! Goody bags and drinks are included in the price and of course there will be a chill-out room for those who need to cool off. Prices: £3 in advance of the day and £3.50 on the door (we need to know numbers to make sure there are enough goody bags to go round, so please try and book in advance if you can).
Parent’s evening refreshments: Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th February
As always we will be there to cheer your evening up with a hot drink and a smile! Come and say hello between 3:30pm and 7:30pm on Tuesday and 3:30pm and 5:30pm on Thursday. Second hand uniform will also be available to purchase on these days.
Quiz night: Friday 11th March 7pm – After all the puddings are eaten!
Get a team together or come along and we will fit you in. Bring some nibbles and drinks to keep you going, and maybe a homemade pudding for the pudding competition. The School Association will provide a buffet at half time whilst you enjoy a fun mini quiz and you get to eat your choice of puddings after judgment in the competition.
Non-uniform day: Tuesday 22nd March
As is tradition, we will be holding an Easter Egg Raffle and in preparation for this we ask that your children bring in an Easter Egg or other Easter themed treat. In return, your kids can dress in home clothes on 22nd March. Raffle tickets will be sent home nearer the time and the raffle will be held on Thursday 24th March (Please remind your children that a raffle does not guarantee a prize).
Kind regards
Your School Association Committee.
