All-New VXR hits Australian Showrooms

Yamaha Motor Australia is pleased to announce the release of the all-new, high-performance VXR WaveRunner, is imminently available through authorised dealerships nationwide. This hard-hitting, light-weight muscle craft has been completely re-engineered from the keel up; effectively re-setting the benchmark for affordable,
high-performance watercraft.

New Features.
Handling and power-to-weight optimisation has been a key-element in the design process of all Yamaha performance machines, and the new Yamaha VXR is no-exception to this.
At a glance the new VXR is larger and aesthetically more aggressive than the previous model; featuring a striking new deck with distinctively edgy lines, integrated wing mirrors, and sporty chrome highlights. The addition of a two-piece, sport-bolstered, 3-person seat and a larger stern platform with integrated re-boarding step, gives the rider a secure feel and aids in convenient re-boarding.
New Hull.
Below the surface is Yamaha’s ‘Pièce De Résistance’;a completely-redesigned, performance-inspired NanoXcel injection-moulded hull & deck. The new high-performance, VXRhull features new strakes, spray-deflecting bow chines, and a new dihedral-shaped keel; a hull shape that delivers a new level of responsive and exciting handling, while promoting a drier and more comfortable ride for all passengers in varying conditions.
Complementing the new hull is the all-new electric trim switch; allowing the rider to finely tune the VXR’s ride to suit the conditions and rider’s style.
New Level of Performance.
Precision matched to the new performance hull is the largest-capacity production watercraft engine available; Yamaha's big torque, 1.8 litre naturally aspirated High Output marine engine. Working in synergy with the redesigned ride-plate and the brand-new hull, the VXR sprints from zero to 50kph in under 1.8 seconds*.

New Level of Control.
Yamaha’s revolutionary new RiDE dual throttle control system is a huge advancement in watercraft handling technology and has been applied to all Yamaha VX and FX series WaveRunners. The RiDE system, which stands for Reverse with Intuitive Deceleration Electronics, allows the rider to simply pull the right-hand throttle lever to go forward, pull the left-hand throttle lever to slow down and reverse. Let go of both levers and the watercraft is in neutral. The right and left throttle levers can work in unison, at any speed to give the driver maximum control.RiDE utilises a patented bucket design that reverse-thrusts water out the sides of the bucket, directing water in the opposing direction - whereby acting as a virtual rudder that keeps the watercraft tracking in the direction the driver intended.
The complete RiDEcontrol system is orchestrated by the electronic Boat Control Unit (BCU), which istuned at the factoryto specifically account for the power and weight of the VXR. This ensures that the VXR performs exceptionally under any throttle input, in all conditions.

With a RRP of $15,948.90, the all-new VXR representsexceptional bang-for-buck value; packed full of Yamaha-exclusive standard features such as: RiDE, new light-weight performance hull and the largest-capacity engine available in any watercraft.Shipments of Yamaha’s all-new VXR is beginning to arrive at authorised Yamaha dealerships Australia-wide, in two stunning colours: Black and Laser Yellow Metallic, and Torch Red Metallic.
