2014 MVP Flight Boys Summer

Basketball League

After fortyfive successful seasons, MVP Flight, Inc., a non-profit organization is once again hosting a select basketball league for teams in Northern California. This year we will have multiple divisions in grades 3-12 competing in our MVP Flight Basketball league. We anticipate filling up divisions quickly. Teams will be accepted on a first come basis and it is recommended that you sign up as quickly as possible.

In order to insure competitive divisions at all grade levels we are offering a “Flight” Division (Strongest, Upper level school teams and AAU teams), a “Power” Division (Middle level school & CYO Teams) and a “Competitive” Division (Lower level school or CYO Teams). On the registration form, we are asking for your input as to which division your team will participate. However, MVP Flight will make the final determination in placing your team in the most appropriate division.

League Dates & Times

League play will begin the weekend of June 14, 2014. The league will be concluded by July 20 and the playoffs will be the following weekend. Games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays. We will attempt to accommodate special scheduling requests, although we cannot guarantee compliance.

League Games & Playoffs

Each team will play an 8-game schedule and there will be a playoff in each division. The top four teams in each division make the playoffs. Playoffs are single-elimination. The playoffs will take place July 26-27.

There will be an admission charge at our league playoffs of $5 per adult and $3 for children 15 & under. Please inform your player’s families prior to the playoffs.

Game Sites

League games and playoffs will be played at the following sites:

Tice Valley (2055 Tice Valley Blvd. WC)

Foothill Middle School (2775 Cedro Ln. WC)

Alhambra High (150 E. St. Martinez)

DVC (321 Golf Club Rd. Pleasant Hill)

Coaches Meeting

There will be a coaches meeting one week prior to the start of the league. This will be your last opportunity to submit team rosters and release forms. Schedules will not be distributed until rosters, release forms and league fees have been received.

If all of your paperwork is submitted, you will not be required to attend.

Uniforms

MVP Flight requires a complete team uniform for every player participating in the league. As part of our program, we offer a uniform consisting of a high quality reversible jersey and a game short. Your team name and numbers will be included. These uniforms can be worn in other leagues or while traveling to tournaments. The cost per uniform is $45.

If you wish to upgrade to a custom uniform, please contact MVP Sports (510) 567-8370. Many options are available.

League Fees

1. There will be a $50 per player fee for each team. You must have a minimum of nine players and all players must be listed on your roster. The check should be made payable to MVP Flight.

2. A separate check for $400 should be made payable to MVP Flight Officials.

3. If you wish to purchase uniforms at $45 each, the check should be made to MVP Flight.

We anticipate filling up many of these divisions quickly. You may assure participation by filling out the registration form and returning it along with a check for $400 payable to MVP Flight Officials. All other league fees are due by June 4, 2014.
