Analyst - Energy and Operations Management Support

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required.
Minimum of an Associate's in Science or Associates in Art preferred.
Minimum of two years related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid Florida Driver License.

Job Goal
To plan, coordinate and implement the school district program of energy management.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Ability to work well with others; ability to communicate well in both written and verbal forms; ability to interpret financial and utility usage data to school personnel. Knowledge in the areas of accounting, budgeting, analysis and reporting. Proficient in Business software applications; word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

Develop and implement district-wide financial measurement and goal setting programs for utilities usage.
Coordinate Behavioral Modification program as implemented under performance contracting.
Develop and implement training modules relating to reducing energy waste in the district's facilities.
Support in departmental wide budgeting, reporting and analysis activities.
Train new site coordinators as required.
Monitor use of fuels and electricity.
Update the utility bill management software.
Provide utility cost projections for the budgeting process.
Periodically check utility records.
Compile monthly and annual energy management financial reports and provide status reports to schools.
Recommend ways to reduce energy costs. Conduct special studies and analyses as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance or Staff Engineer and prepare appropriate plans, budgets, reports and/or recommendations.
Review, expand, and monitor recycling programs throughout the District.
Travel to work sites and schools throughout the county.
Conduct school inspection in support of facility utilization/usage studies.
Report monthly and annual on the status of the District's Energy Management Program.
Provide outstanding customer service, and use positive interpersonal communicational skills.
Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with Brevard Public Schools’ Organizational Values.
Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations.
