1.Call to Order by Mike Fortin

2.Approval of minutes from previous meeting

  • Motion by Chris Litt to approve previous minutes. Seconded by LeighAnn Workewich. Motion carried.

3.Approval of Agenda for current meeting

  • Motion by Chris Litt to approve Agenda. Seconded byNicholas Osborne. Motion carried.

-Science Timmins

Discussion ensued over Science Timmins and what it does for the community such as no charge events for kids and what the Timmins Police Association would receive for its donation. Promotions for sponsors include sign drive, sponsored event, a plaque in main lobby with sponsor names and a media release for any donation.After discussion, motion by Chris Litt to donate $1,500 to Science Timmins. Seconded by LeighAnn Workewich. Motion carried. LeighAnn Workewich will look into getting a “big cheque” and a photograph will be given to the Daily Press for the presentation of the cheque.

  • No Update

7.Treasurer’s Report

  • No update on balances. A full detailed report will be given at the next meeting.

8.President’s Report

  • By-laws and Constitution –The By-Law and Constitution working group has met once and are going through items to bring up to the lawyer. If anyone has any ideas or requests with respect to the By-Laws and Constitution, they should be emailed to Mike Fortin.
  • Update on grievances:
  • Alex Lacelle – Executive agreed to pay legal fees towards review of Alex Lacelle’s Agreement for his resignation. $2,000 has been paid.
  • Civilian Grievance –Susanne Colantonio being put into the Senior Officer’s Association – will be going to arbitration
  • David Starcevic Human Rights Tribunal Complaint – Mediation set for April 26th, 2017
  • Civilian Grievance – Association time – still ongoing

9.New Business

  • Yearly Retirement Party for Members – Discussion ensued regarding having a yearly retirement party for members instead of just handing out plaques. This would be an unofficial gathering to hand out the plaques and would be above anything specified in the by-laws. The gathering would be held at a low-cost facility such as the Lions Club Hall. Motion by LeighAnn Workewich to host a yearly retirement party for members. Seconded by Nicholas Osborne. Motion carried.
  • Incentive Draw – Winner Chris Litt $100
  • Donation of football kersey for raffle by Nicholas Osborne – Winner Chris Litt

Motion made by Chris Littto adjourn the meeting. Seconded by LeighAnn Workewich. Motion carried and meeting adjourned.
