Private Pilot 2 Syllabus:
Welcome to Private Pilot 2. This course will take you from your first solo all the way through to your Private Pilot Check Ride. All ground events will be completed concurrently with your flight instruction and will be on an as scheduled basis with notification at least a month in advance. Please do your best to show up to the earliest available course date as this will ensure that you quickly and efficiently obtain your certificate.
Each Event will be scheduled at least 3 times per term (or once per month), all at different parts of the day (morning, afternoon, and night). If you are unable to attend the first class date, you can easily come to the next. Make sure you communicate this with me prior to the first class date. An email is sufficient.
If you feel you are behind, don’t hesitate to email or text me. I can set up a different date to go over a missed ground lesson.
As always, I hold open office hours and you are encouraged to sign up for these and attend. The sign up sheet is at the dispatch desk in the ACT Building. These office hours are as follows:

- Highlighters, Pens and Tabs
Grading:
- All Homework will be completed prior to the next class period. Students must score an 80% or better to continue with the consecutive class.
- Any student with a score below 80% on required homework will be given a chance to meet with the instructor and complete an extra assignment. This assignment must be completed to 90%. This assignment will be given at the discretion of the instructor.
- If the student fails the first and second assignment, he will be required to re-sit for the Event.
- After the completion of Event 22, the student will be given a take-home Pre-Solo Aeronautical Knowledge Test. This test is open book and will be corrected to 100% with the student’s CFI.
- After the completion of Event 32, the student will sit for a Cross-Country Scenario Test.
- After the student completes Flight Event 41, they will go through a ground panel final with a Ground Instructor and two CFI/Commercial candidates. At the completion of this final, the panel will recommend to the student’s CFI that they are ready for the End of Course.
