SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAY VERSE – PSALM 133:1 NIV

“HOW GOOD AND PLEASANT IT IS WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE LIVE TOGETHER IN UNITY!”

PERSPECTIVE

A minister was attending a men’s breakfast. He asked one of the older farmers in attendance to say the prayer that morning. The farmer began,

“Lord, I hate buttermilk.”The pastor opened one eye and wondered to himself where this was going. Then the farmer said,“Lord, I hate lard.”Now the pastor was worried. But the farmer prayed on,“And Lord, you know I don’t care much for raw flour.”

As the pastor was about to stop everything the farmer continued,“But Lord, when you mix‘em all together and bakes‘em up, I do love those fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up we don’t like, when life gets hard, when we just don’t understand what you are saying to us, we just need to relax and wait‘til You are done fixin’and probably it will be something even better than biscuits.” Amen *****************************************************************“It is easy to be tolerant of any convictions if you have none of your own.” Herbert Samuel

THE TONGUE – THOUGHTS FROM

REV. ROBERT MORRIS

PROVERBS 18:21: “LIFE AND DEATH ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE.”

YOUR MOUTH REPRESENTS YOUR HEART AND THE FRUITS ARE THE WORDS YOU SPEAK. IF IT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, IT IS IN YOUR HEART.

BAD WORDS CAN COST US LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP.

BAD WORDS CAN HURT THE OTHER PERSON.

BAD WORDS LAST FOREVER – ALWAYS

“OUT THERE” IN SPACE

NEVER TO BE RETRIEVED..

GOOD WORDS CAN BE AN INSTRUMENT OF PEACE. BAD WORDS CAN BE AN INSTRUMENT OF DISCORD. WHAT DO YOUR WORDS SAY?

PSALM 141:3 “TAKE CONTROL OF WHAT I SAY, OH LORD, AND GUARD MY LIPS.”

PSALM 39:1 I SAID TO MYSELF, “I WILL WATCH WHAT I DO AND NOT SIN IN WHAT I SAY. I WILL HOLD MY TONGUE WHEN THE UNGODLY ARE AROUND ME.”

MATTHEW 12:35 “A GOOD PERSON PRODUCES GOOD THINGS FROM THE TREASURY OF A GOOD HEART, AND AN EVIL PERSON PRODUCES EVIL THINGS FROM THE TREASURY OF AN EVIL HEART.”

REMEMBER – YOUR HEART SHOULD BE LARGER THAN YOUR TONGUE!

“HURRICANES FOR GOD”

Ron E. Thompson has written a book titled “Hurricanes for God”. This book is based on Matthew 10: 16-20.

Ron was prompted by the Lord to write this book compiling the biblical truths he learned through his years of ministry as an evangelist. The truths in this book demonstrate the impact an individual or group can have on this lost world for our Lord Jesus Christ. This book is arranged in a way that it can be used either for a personal or a group Bible Study.

Ron was a pastor at Stone Church in 1957-1959 and also interim pastor again in 1996. Ron and his daughter Angie Hales have ministered in music at a couple of our past homecomings. Ron is retired but continues to be pianist at his church in Johnson City, TN, where he resides with his wife Thelma.

If you would like a copy of Ron’s book, please mail a check for $11.95 to:

Or let Carole Burch know if you want to do a group order and she will do that for you if you prefer.
