GIG HARBOR, WA 09/24/2013 –VaproShield LLC, industry leaders of innovative breathable membrane systems for roofs and walls, installed over 400,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Sheet Membrane on the $415 million Music City Center located in Nashville, Tennessee. The Music City Center covers a land area of 16 acres with a square footage totaling 2.1 million sq. ft. Employing over 415 local vendors, contractors and service providers the Music City Center is described as the nation’s largest construction project.

VaproShield’s WrapShield SA Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Sheet Membraneallows moisture to escape [from the building]helping to reduce the incidence of mold, mildew, lumber distortion and metal corrosion. The membrane does not have any VOC’s,this eliminates environmental, health and safety concerns of primer application and ensures good indoor air quality for the life of the building. The innovative adhesive allows for all weather construction and withstood Nashville humidity ranging from 39-92% and temperature variations from 29°-89°F. The water resistive vapor permeable air barrier sheet membrane also offers six month UV and climate exposure. Combined these features allowed for all-weather, phase construction friendly installation that complimented the project’s three year construction timeline. The membrane also adhered to the multiple substrates used throughout the site eliminating the need for multiple weather resistive barrier products and accessories.

“VaproShield is proud to be part of the nation’s largest construction project,” says Phil Johnson, VaproShield Managing Partner, “I am confident our membranes will perform for the entire life of the Music City Center.”

The Music City Center project is in the final stages of receiving LEED Silver certification. VaproShield’s SA Self-Adhered helped to contribute to LEED certification in several areas. In the category Core and Shell it can contribute to: Energy and Atmosphere, Indoor Environmental Quality, Innovative & Design Process. In the LEED for New Construction category it can contribute to: Energy and Atmosphere, Indoor Environmental Quality, Innovation and Design.

VaproShield Managing Partners, Phil Johnson and Lee Snyder are available for interview. Both men will be present at the CONSTRUCT trade show September 25th through 27th, VaproShield Booth 131.
