Re: Information Regarding Your Eligibility for Health Coverage

A system review has shown a difference in the tax filing status you provided and the tax filing required for payment assistance eligibility. Your application indicates that you plan to file taxes for 2014 as Married Filing Separately. Generally, individuals are not eligible for payment assistance (APTC) if they file a Married Filing Separately tax return. Married couples who receive payment assistance (APTC) will need to file a Married Filing Jointly tax return to qualify for payment assistance.
If your filing status is not correct, you will need to change it before September 14, 2014. kynect will redetermine eligibility for payment assistance on September 15, 2014 for individuals who have entered Married Filing Separately as their tax filing status on their application.
If you want to change your tax filing status, here is how to do it:
Ø Go online to kynect.ky.gov
· Log on to your account
· Select “Report a Change in Circumstances”
· Select “Someone in my household has a reason to report a change that is not listed in the reasons shown above”
· Select: “Personal and Tax Filing Information”
· Select the correct tax filing status
Ø Contact an insurance agent or kynector near you
Ø Call kynect Customer Service at 1-855-4kynect (459-6328) TTY: 1-855-326-4654
Ø Go to your local Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) office

If Married Filing Separately is your correct tax status, your payment assistance may end when eligibility is redetermined. You will receive an official notice of action prior to any changes in your eligibility
