TD-Scan 19.06 Overview

Date 10 – March – 2014

·  Additions to Strip-Scan.

§  A pop-up menu has now been added to offline Strip-Scan windows. With the mouse pointer inside the Strip-Scan image, pressing the mouse right button opens a pop-up menu with the following options:-

§  Zonal data is now imported from ESBeamTool .ebwk files.

§  In the Strip Scan set-up page, the Zonal data may be configured / modified by pressed the new <Edit Zones> button. Above this button, the text for currently selected zone is displayed. This is different than the channels label text.

E.g. Multiple channels may be selected for the root zone, each having a different angle. The channel’s label text can be used to show this, e.g. “Rt 55”, “Rt 65”, but the zone text may just be “Rt”.

§  Zonal Data dialog has been added. Without this data, the new XL report can not be generated.

To modify, delete, or add entries into either table, place the mouse pointer inside the table, press the right mouse button, and select the required action from the pop-up menu.

When the dialog is closed by pressing the <OK> button the software will ask <Do you wish to update the Strip Scan labels?>. If you have customised the Strip-Scan labels, it is recommended to answer <No>.

§  Defect Mark-up boxes can now be placed in Volumetric strips.

§  Defect Mark-up boxes can now be linked together. So if a defect is seen in the Zoned, Volumetric, & ToFD strips, and Mark-up boxes are placed over the defect, place the mouse pointer inside one of the Mark-up boxes and press the right mouse button. Select <Link> from the pop-up menu. Further instruction is then displayed if this is the 1st time the <Link> option has been selected this session of TD-Scan.

§  The Defect Mark-up box has been modified to:-

o  Display the channel(s) Strip-Scan label text and not just the zone number.

o  The defect depth & height can now be set by the operator.

o  The max amplitude is now displayed in the defect list.

§  Strip Scan data collection has been modified for zoned channels. The channel’s hardware gate threshold is set to the “Record” threshold specified in the Strip-Scan setup page. (Focus Scan only).

In the example above, the hardware threshold will be set to -12dB of the value in the <Gate> page. If this was set to 80%, the hardware threshold would therefore be set to 20%.

§  The Strip-Scan Reports dialog has changed to accommodate the new XL Report generator.

§  New XL Report generator.

The report generator can produce 3 types of sheet which are, Chart Sheet, Summary Sheet, and Indications Sheet.

Chart Sheet:

§  The colour used to draw defect mark-up boxes can now be defined in the Strip Scan colours configuration dialog.

§  The maximum number of Couplant Check channels has increased to 6 Up Stream & 6 Down Stream.

·  Changed how motor control works with the Rotational scanner type. The rotating axis now moves constantly, with the linear axis incrementing each time the rotating axis reached 0°. The rotational scanner configuration dialog has also been updated.

·  In Super-View when the Single Axis scanner is selected, and the circumference option is enabled, the Y position of the data is kept within the circumference value. E.g. if the circumference is set to 2000mm and the scanner position is 2045mm, the data’s Y position will be 45mm.

·  Bug Fix – If performing a manual S-Scan and the channel had acquisition gain enabled, pressing one of the side menu keys that modify the gain would cause the gain to be changed, but without the acquisition gain included.

·  Bug Fix – If acquisition gain is enabled, opening the Collection Hardware dialog whilst performing data acquisition would cause the acquisition gain to be added for a 2nd time.

·  The TCG Calibration test in the Phased Array calibration wizard set the sample rate to 100Mhz. This has been changed to 50Mhz to increase the screen update rate.

·  Major changes to the ToFD analysis software to facilitate touch screen operation.

·  Bug Fix – In Super View moving a cursor on the C-Scan would cause ToFD data in an associated D-Scan to disappear.

·  Pressing the <Theoretical Delay> button in the <Probe> page for a Phased Array channel, could cause the gate start values to become very large if the current probe delay was not zero when the button was pressed, and the operator selected that they did want the gates to be repositioned.

·  When in either Probe Delay calibration phase or TCG calibration phased, the colour bar menu option to switch to/from 400% scale is now disabled. The software forces the scale to 100% for Probe Delay calibration, and 400% for TCG calibration.

·  Bug Fix – All mouse input was captured by the colour bar when the operator started to manipulate it. However, sometime this capture was not released, therefore other mouse operations outside of the colour bar would be ignored.

·  Bug Fix – In Super View online, the C-Scan image may not update correctly if multiple S-Scan channels where selected.
