MINUTES

The meeting was held at 4425 N. Market St. Wilmington, DE. A quorum of the Board was present for the meeting. Present: Elmer L. Newlin, Chairman of the Board, Vance G. Daniels Sr., and Donald Dryden, Board Members. Also present were, Katisha D. Fortune, Deputy Attorney General and Counsel to the Board, and Tanishia Stewart, Appeal Board Secretary.

THE FOLLOWING CASES WERE HEARD BY THE BOARD:

Kelly Crawford v. Light Action Inc. - AD # 20738124

Present: Kelly Crawford, claimant; Lauren Moak Esq., employer’s attorney; Paula Deluca, employer representative; Brian Market, employer witness; Kim Moore, employer witness. A motion was made by Mr. Dryden, and seconded by Mr. Daniels. The Board moved to affirm the referee and award benefits. Mr. Newlin opposed. Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Bell were not present for the hearing.

Karl Owens v. Carman Ford – AD # 10737349

Present: Karl Owens, claimant; John Henry, employer representative. A motion was made by Mr. Daniels, and seconded by Mr. Dryden. The Board moved to affirm the referee and deny benefits. Mr. Newlin agreed. Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Bell were not present for the hearing.

Carlton Mowbray v. Home Depot – AD # 10736005

Present: Patricia Witiw, employer representative. Although duly notified, the claimant, Carlton Mowbray, failed to appear. A motion was made by Mr. Dryden, and seconded by Mr. Daniels. The Board moved to dismiss. Mr. Newlin agreed. Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Bell were not present for the hearing.

A motion was made by Mr. Daniels, and seconded by Mr. Dryden. The Board moved to deem employer assessable to pay into unemployment. Mr. Newlin agreed. Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Carpenter were not present for the hearing.
