Job Title : Cashroom Assistant

Responsible to : Head Cashier

Job Purpose

To provide a comprehensive cashroom and financial service to the firm, both at Head Office and all branches

Key Responsibilities

·  Maintenance of Sales, Purchase & Nominal ledgers for the firm.

·  Ability to work within, and follow set standards and procedures.

·  Honest and trustworthy.

·  Good communication skills.

·  Strong organisational and time management skills.

·  Ability to work within a small team.

·  Ability to use your own initiative and work with a minimum of supervision on a daily basis.

·  Distribute outgoing cheques to pigeon holes.

·  Ensure sufficient toner, paper etc as required.

·  Photocopy/Fax.

·  Check pigeon holes for cash room work.

·  Deal with purchase ledger payments.

·  Any other work that may arise of an administrative nature.

·  Data processing duties including; Creating New Matters, updating I.D, call credit checks.

·  To carry out daily banking tasks for both Client/Firm Banking.

·  Working with the purchase ledger to process supplier payments on a fortnightly basis.

·  Make sure that all tasks above are carried out in accordance with our strict procedures so that we remain compliant with the Law Society Accounts Rules at all times.

·  Adhere to Blackadders policies and procedures and Law Society of Scotland Regulations, including Money Laundering, Client Charter etc.

·  To ensure that Safe Working Practices are adhered to, in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation and Blackadders LLP.

Other Duties

There may be the requirement to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. Such variations would not of themselves justify the re-evaluation of a post. In cases, however, where a permanent and substantial change in the nature of the duties and responsibilities of a post occurs consistent with a higher level of responsibility, then the post would be eligible for re-evaluation.
