POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: / LIBRARIAN (PART-TIME)
LOCATION: / Newton Campus
DESCRIPTION / Assists in maintaining a comprehensive Learning Resource Center to support staff, faculty and students at the college. The Librarian will report to the Director of Learning Resources.
To meet the needs of our students, the Librarian will be required to work four nights a week and / or as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: / This position will be responsible for the following:
·  Support reference and circulation desk activities.
·  Assists patrons with reference questions and research.
·  Provide library instruction for faculty.
·  Assist in the development of tools and activities that support and promote instructional programs and services (i.e. information resources, guides, tutorials, and web resources).
·  Collects and analyzes library usage data
·  Assists in collection development and training of other staff.
·  Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: / Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: / In addition to the minimum qualifications experience with Ex Libris Alma library services platform.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical materials, and/or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and instructional materials; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, managers, and the general public; ability to perform basic numeric calculations; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of both concrete and abstract ideas.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions. The employee will be required to drive to various instructional internship facilities.
SALARY/benefits: / The salary for this position is $24.00 per hour. This is a part time position working up to 19.5 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. Georgia Defined Contributions and taxes will be deducted.
