Critical Input Chunk / Preview / Actively Process / ·  Compare the paintings of Raphael and Durer, shown on pg 168 and 169. What themes does each artist explore? How does each painting reflect the history of the culture in which it was produced?
·  Create a diagram illustrating the major differences between the Catholic and Protestant faiths. Then, use the information in your diagram in one general comparison statement
/ ·  Imagine that you are a Renaissance teenager and it’s time to schedule your core classes for school. What classes will you be taking to best prepare you for success during this era? Justify your choices using Humanist goals and philosophical frameworks.
·  You are Martin Luther testifying at your inquisition. Explain why you feel you must split with the Catholic Church.
·  You are an Anabaptist living in England during the reign of “Bloody Mary”. Your problem is that she wants everyone to be Catholic again and she is quite mean about enforcing her wishes. You need to overcome the obstacle of Mary’s goals and still remain alive What solution will you come up with in order to survive without changing your religion to appease the government?

·  Catholic Church Organizational Hierarchy chart (Draw chart on board while discussing with kids how the church is organized currently as a preview to Reformation information)
·  Discuss modern core curriculum classes (Discuss with kids which of their current classes are considered to be “core” curriculum as a preview to new information about which courses were considered to be “core” in the Renaissance. / ·  Take Cornell notes over content & add Summaries to Cornell Notes
