GIFT AID ADMINISTRATOR

Reports to:Gift Aid Manager

Salary:£20,000 pa depending on experience, plus generous benefits

Location:60 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5AZ

Principal Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the receipt, recording and allocation of donations on a large database.
  • To answer queries and compose letters arising from post, telephone/email or personal enquiries.
  • To liaise and communicate with donors, fundraisers and members of the Finance department as required.
  • To maintain the departmental filing system, including all Gift Aid declarations and envelopes.
  • To assist with any other ad hoc admin duties as required.

Personal Specification:

  • A flexible, team working approach and a willingness to help with all aspects of running an effective department.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
  • Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent standard of English and the ability to compose concise and appropriate letters/emails.
  • Good standard of maths and basic accounting knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills and an excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to produce accurate work with close attention to detail.
  • A working knowledge of the Gift Aid Scheme would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will give full administrative support to the Gift Aid Department, working in a team of five to provide a Fundraising support service to our donors. You will enjoy creating and maintaining good relations with key donors. You should have suitable administrative experience, but full training will be given on our donations databases and all aspects of the job. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.

Terms and conditions:

Contract:One year fixed term contract, subject to successful completion of a probationary period

Salary:£20,000 pa

Hours:34 hours Monday to Friday

(9 am – 5 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am – 4 pm Friday)

Holidays:The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December

Entitlement is 28 days per year, in addition to statutory holidays

Pension:Contributory pension scheme

Season ticket loan/health and/or dental insurance:Available on successful completion of the probationary period.

Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys

Background

The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys (RMTGB) is a national charity funded by English Freemasonry. The aim of the Charity is to support disadvantaged children and young people who are in full-time education.

The RMTGB has a staff of around 35, of which about half are concerned with raising funds and with the administration of finance and property. The other half consists of the grantsdepartment, which is responsible for processing applications, paying grants and managing ongoing cases.

The RMTGB is one of four national charities located in Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden, London which collectively provide funding, advice and a range of services to support Freemasons and their families as well as providing significant grants to other charities both in the UK and overseas.
