Book- Prentice Hall: Biology - they keep at home.

Grading- Students will be required to participate in many laboratory activities, class projects, research projects, class work, and class discussion. Grades are regularly posted in the class and updated in Aeries.

100-90% A 60% Tests

89-80% B 20% Class work/HW

79-70% C 20% Labs & Activities

69-60% D

59-0% F

Assignments-

1.  Put the proper heading in the upper right hand corner of each paper: First and last name, period, and date. Papers with NO NAME will receive NO CREDIT!!!!

2.  You must ONLY USE pencil or blue or black ink on assignments that you turn in. If you use another color, the assignment will NOT BE GRADED!!!

3.  Keep assignments together for each unit to review and study for each test including the final exam at the end of the semester.

4.  Homework MUST be turned in BEFORE the bell rings, or it is late.

Tests/Quizzes

·  There will be a test and 2-3 quizzes for each unit.

·  The quizzes are pop quizzes, and you can expect them any time without warning after you are given a test review for the unit.

Student Absences

·  Make-up work and tests need to be completed within a reasonable amount of time; 2 days for every day a student is absent.

·  The daily agenda, homework, what was turned in, and other information will be posted daily on Mrs. Dondanville’s page on the school’s website.

Truancy- If you are truant, you cannot make up the work or test for that day.

Cheating

·  Cheating will not be tolerated.

·  Cheating includes copying homework, labs, classwork, or test questions, use of cheat sheets, etc.

·  There is a difference between helping someone and letting them cheat. If you are not sure the difference between the two, ask me before you do it!

·  Consequences for cheating:

o  Receive a ZERO on the assignment for both parties involved.

o  Parent notification.

o  Referral to your counselor.

o  Implementation of schoolwide consequences for cheating.

Late Work- Late work will be accepted up to ONE day late for 25% of the original points. After the assignment is one day late, it will not be accepted for any points.

Student Behavior Expectations

1.  Be respectful to the teacher, other students and the classroom.

2.  Follow all directions immediately.

3.  Be prepared when the bell rings.

4.  Follow all school rules.

Tardies

·  You must be in your seat when the bell rings, or you will be marked tardy.

·  On the 4th tardy, and every tardy thereafter you will receive hours.

Cell Phones

·  Cell phones are not allowed to be out or used during class time.

·  The teacher may take them away and send them to the office at any time for any reason if they are out.

·  However, there may be times during the school year that you will be allowed to use your cell phone during class. But, it must be approved by Mrs. Dondanville first or you run the risk of it being taken away.

·  If you are not sure if it is an appropriate time to use or take out your cell phone, ASK FIRST.
