EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

General Emergency Information

In the event of an EMERGENCY, dial 2 from any meeting room house phone, which will connect you with Security’s emergency line.All other house phones will connect you directly to the Resort Operator. 911 can be dialed directly from any guest room. Dialing 22 from your guest room will connect you directly to Security.

For NON-EMERGENCIES, Dial 4220 for Dolphin Security; or 1730 for Swan Security.

The primary department responsible for handling emergency procedures in the hotel is Security. A Security Manager is on property 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. The Security Manager on Duty can be reached at the numbers listed above.

The Hotel’s Security Staff are trained for the following emergencies. CPR, First Aid, Disaster Preparedness, Heimlich Maneuver and automated External Defibrillators. (In addition, a minimal percentage of Food & Beverage employees are CPR trained and can administer the Heimlich maneuver).

The Swan and Dolphin maintains a list of personnel who speak languages other than English in the Service Express Department, Dial Extension 66.

Security Officers are Cast Members (employees) of the Swan and Dolphin (Starwood).

Fire Emergency Information

In an emergency, the alarm sounds and the fire response procedures are initiated.

All guests in the affected area are notified in the event of a fire alarm. The alarm is audible with strobe lights and a public address announcement to evacuate. Evacuation routes/directions/procedures are posted on the back of every guest room door. Cast Members assist in directing guests as needed.

The main control panels for communicating with the fire department are located in the Security Offices / FireCommandCenter. The Fire alarm system at the resort is linked directly to Reedy Creek Fire Department.

Weather Emergency Information

There is a written emergency plan for extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes and tornadoes; the General Manager will initiate the plan as applicable.

Law Enforcement Information

There is an Orange County Sheriff’s substation located on Disney Property.

Hazardous Materials

Hazardous materials are handled by the Orange County Fire Rescue Hazmat (Hazardous Materials) Team; this is consistent for all of Walt Disney World.

Mass Care Facility Operation

A series of Disney Transportation Units will remove all guests from the property at this signal and at the direction of O.C. Hazmat and Homeland Security personnel. The designated Mass Care Facility is CelebrationHospital, a Level 3 Trauma Center with over 100 beds. Celebration has eight affiliate medical centers that they coordinate Mass Care operations.

In the event of an area evacuation, Disney Transportation busses are utilized for the evacuation transportation system.
