Grading:You must earn 70% of the total points. In addition, you must satisfactorily complete 70% in each lab to pass the course.

The final grade will be determined as follows:

Final Exam80 points (Feb. 9 at 7:30 am)

Physical Exam Lab Experience:

  1. A schedule of room assignments will be distributed prior to labs.
  1. Assigned readings and vocabulary terms ARE TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO LABS.
  1. Pretests are to be completed prior to lab and will be turned in at the beginning of each lab.
  1. A practical exam will be given at the end of most labs. You must successfully pass each lab practical.
  1. Take your medical equipment to each lab as pertinent. Also take your required textbook.

COURSE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Exam Skills component:

  1. Understand the components of each regional physical exam and be able to correctly recognize medical terminology.
  1. Be able to demonstrate proficiency at the physical exam region using basic diagnostic tools.

Injection techniques component:

  1. Develop basic skills in phlebotomy and injection techniques utilizing

universal precautions.
