Employment / Temporary (approx 1 year contract), part time (21 hours per week)

Graphic Designer
A Graphic Designer (GD) works within the Marketing Department reporting to the Head Designer & Production Manager. A GD must be able to demonstrate their creativity, have an eye for detail and be able to produce consistently accurate work often within tight timescales. GDs are primarily responsible for the professional production of the company’s marketing materials (both print and electronic) and are typically tasked with the following responsibilities…
· To liaise with other departments to gather and interpret source material.
· To interpret creative briefs provided by marketing and merchandising personnel to deliver against a specified marketing objective.
Printed marketing
· Working alone or as part of a team to produce the company’s various catalogues, advertisements and individual pieces of Direct Mail.
· To design, create and amend artwork for the above printed marketing material.
Electronic marketing
· Design, create and amend adverts, banners, buttons, mastheads and pages for display on web sites or within email marketing.
· Working alone or as part of a team to produce materials for display electronically, on both Dabs and other companies’ web sites or within email marketing.
Corporate identity
· To work within established guidelines governing corporate identity.
· Where the creation of artwork for new logos, stationary or individual marketing vehicles is required, the established corporate guidelines must be applied sympathetically to maintain the company’s strong corporate identity.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
· Competent in the use of QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator.
· Experience of Web authoring software (Macromedia Fireworks/Flash) preferred.
· Experience of PDF output.
· Ability to work within a team environment.
· Willingness to learn new skills.
· Willingness to work overtime when required.
· Ability to work unsupervised, organise/control workflow from start to finish of a job.
· A flexible approach to work.
· 2 years previous experience would be preferred.
It may also be necessary for a Graphic Designer to carry out other departmental duties that have yet to be defined.
