2 Corinthians 7:1-16

Receiving Correction

Discipleship Lifestyle Group Study Questions3.18.18

Overview:

Paul wrote a letter to the Corinthian believers that was rather harsh at points, and it hurt them to receive it. It wasn’t easy for him to write it either, and hurt him as well. He knew it was necessary, but that didn’t make it any easier. Conflict never is. Whether you are the one addressing an issue or the one on the receiving end, it is never easy. However, it is exactly what is needed at certain times and can’t be ignored. In a perfect world, the “giving” would be handled in a godly manner and the “receiving” would be as well. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world. So the question is, how are we going to respond to it when it does happen? The key to our response is determined by the level of our desire to maintain the relationship. For Paul and the Corinthian believers, it was imperative to keep the relationship strong. Let’s take a closer look at this.
