A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND THANK DR. I. V. HILLIARD, PASTOR OF NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTER IN HOUSTON, TEXAS, FOR THE LEADERSHIP AND GUIDANCE IN THE CHRISTIAN FAITH JOURNEY THAT HE PROVIDES TO THE WORLD, THE NATION, AND THE MIRACLE FAITH CHRISTIAN CENTER IN HOPKINS, SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, Dr. I. V. Hilliard is a man of great faith, integrity, and godly principles who started the New Life Christian Center in Houston, Texas, that has influenced thousands of people throughout the world in their faith; and
Whereas, Dr. Hilliard received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity, an Honorary Doctorate degree in Humane Letters, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Friends International Christian University; and
Whereas, Dr. Hilliard was called to preach God’s word at the age of nine; and in 1984, he announced his vision for a new church; and
Whereas, with a following of twentythree members from his previous congregation, Pastor Hilliard began the New Life Christian Center, which now has over twentytwo thousand members; and
Whereas, today the ministry has over two hundred sixty employees and a television ministry that reaches local, national, and international audiences with its own satellite uplink station; and
Whereas, New Life Christian Center, under the leadership of Dr. Hilliard, created several successful outreach programs: Life Change Institute, a residential drug rehabilitation center for men; L.A.M.P.S. (Life Aggressive Marriage Problem Solving) for couples experiencing relationship challenges; and New Life’s Global Outreach that reaches other nations such as Trinidad, Africa, and London, England; and
Whereas, Dr. Hilliard has also started several schools such as Life Bible Institute with a twoyear degree plan, Life Christian Academy Elementary School, and New Vision Christian Education; and
Whereas, Dr. Hilliard is the keynote speaker at the C.H.A.N.G.E. (Church Help Alliance Network for Growth & Excellence in Ministry) annual conference at Miracle Faith Christian Center in Hopkins. Pastors and their congregations from South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. come for the threeday conference; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate are pleased to recognize and commend Dr. I. V. Hilliard for his commitment to spreading the Gospel and the integrity, character, and excellence he provides to communities across the United States and the world. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and thank Dr. I. V. Hilliard, Pastor of New Life Christian Center in Houston, Texas, for the leadership and guidance in the Christian faith journey that he provides to the world, the nation, and the Miracle Faith Christian Center in Hopkins, South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. I.V. Hilliard, Pastor of New Life Christian Center in Houston, Texas.
