ACONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE OFFICERS, MEMBERS, AND AUXILIARIES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE CHAPTERS OF ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY, INCORPORATED, FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SERVICETO THE CITIZENS OF OUR STATE, OURNATION, AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AND TO DECLARE MAY 20, 2015, “ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY DAY” IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, an organization focused on community needs, social action, health, and education, has provided meaningful assistance and formed significant liaisons with numerous communitybased partnerships over the years; and

Whereas, whether administering their outstanding ZHOPE program, formed under the leadership of South Carolina’s own Mrs. Barbara Crockett Moore, the sorority’s twentysecond international president, or giving financial assistance through their National Education Foundation, the members of Zeta Phi Beta keep always in mind that service to the community is their greatest legacy; and

Whereas, along with members of its Amicae and Youth Auxiliaries, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority sisters have given unselfishly of their time, talents, and energies to build stronger communities through the implementation of programs that positively impact human health and the environment at home and abroad; and

Whereas, annually, the energetic women of this organization take time from their busy schedules to acknowledge the work of South Carolina’s legislative bodies, the House of Representatives and the Senate; and

Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly appreciates the dedicated service of the members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and congratulates them for their significant contributions to communities throughout the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor the officers, members, and auxiliaries of the South Carolina State Chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, for their outstanding serviceto the citizens of our State, ournation, and the international community and declare May 20, 2015, “Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Day” in South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
