Directions to Laurel Acres Park:

Find the New Jersey Turnpike. Take it to Exit 4. After the tollbooth, stay to the right, which will put you on Route, 73 North. Stay in the right lane and turn right at the first traffic light, which is only about 100 yards. This will put you on Fellowship Road. Go to the second traffic light and turn right onto Gaither Road. There is a “Y” in the road. Stay to the left. Take Gaither to the end and turn Right onto Church Street. Stay on Church for about 1 mile and the park will be on your left. You’ll be able to find us from there.

Liberty Bell Sailing Instructions:

  1. We are here to enjoy ourselves. Please keep this in perspective. We are a group of grown men playing with toy sailboats.
  1. You are participating in two separate regattas. The Liberty Bell is a fleet racing regatta administered using Promotion/Relegation. This system will be explained at the skipper’s meeting. The other regatta will be a double elimination match racing championship.
  1. We will rotate between fleet and match racing on both days. If the weather does not cooperate, fleet racing will take preference to match racing.
  1. Penalty turns will be 360’s in fleet racing. Match racing penalties are 270’s.
  1. Fleet racing….no dip starts. If you are over early, go around either end. Match racing…dip starts are allowed.
  1. We still use a 2-minute tape for fleet racing. There may be a one-minute warning prior to the tape starting.
  1. Protests not settled on the water will be taken to committee immediately. With that in mind, please also refer to instruction #1.
  1. We have an extremely ambitious schedule to accomplish over two days. Therefore, there will be no five-minute holds unless a burdened vessel damaged your boat.
  1. Fleet racing throw-outs: One every eight races.
  1. We will race until approx. 4pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.
  1. While there may or may not be a formal break for lunch on Saturday, we will make sure that everyone has a chance to eat.
  1. Refer to instruction #1 one last time. Good luck and have fun.

The Saturday night dinner will be at Copperfields Restaurant on the Southbound side of Route 73 about 1 mile South of the Turnpike.
