About your PTO

The Red Oak PTO currently consists of 40+ members whoinclude the leadership team and those assigned to a short-term event or project committee.Last year our fundraising efforts raised over $55,000.Proceeds areused to help fund school technology, field trips, classroom supplies and educational programs, among other things.

How can you get involved?

The PTO is free and open to all parents and/or legal guardians of students who currently attend Red Oak, as well as all current staff.There’s no application for membership – just attend a meeting or volunteer on one of our committees!

The PTO sponsors or participates in many activities throughout the school year, including:

We can only accomplish these outstanding fundraising results and school enrichment activities through the support of our wonderful volunteers. There are many ways to be a part of your child’s education no matter howmuch time you have to give.Please contact us with your interests and availability.

Meetings

The PTO has two meetings per year open to the public which may include a guest speaker.Meetings last approximately one hour and take place at Red Oak.In addition, planning committees meet periodically throughout the year.Please join us at our September PTO meeting:

  • Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
  • An additional PTO meeting will be scheduled after the first of the year – details to come!

Communications

Look for The Acorn, a monthly newsletter containing information on upcoming meetings, volunteer opportunities, updates and more.The Acornis distributed monthly in the students’ red folders.This year we will also send an electronic version to Red Oak parents and staff.You can find more information about the PTO on the Red Oak website.

PTO Mission Statement

The mission of the Red Oak Parent Teacher Organization is to engage parents, teachers, school staff and the surrounding community in working together to provide social, informational and educational experiences for students and families.

The PTO will provide support to Red Oak Elementary as they strive to create a nurturing learning environment in which all students will grow and succeed.
