Islamabad Police show security preparedness for Muharram through impressive
flag march

Islamabad Police along with contingents of
Pakistan Rangers on Monday conducted flag march with an objective to
maintain peace and tranquility in the city during Muharram ul Haram.
The flag march was conducted under supervision of ASP Industrial Area
Shakir Ahmed Shahid which was participated by SDPOs, SHOs of all police
stations, personnel of Pakistan Rangers, Islamabad Traffic Police, Police
Commandoes, Rescue 15 police officials and police patrolling officials.
Flag march started from Pakistan Sports Complex and culminated at the same
point after passing through Dhokri Chowk, Bharakahu Bazar and back on
Murree road, 3rd road, Darbar Bari Imam, T Cross, Radio Pakistan Chowk,
Nadra HQ Chowk, Soharwardi Chowk, Aabpara chowk, Melody, Imam Bargah G-6/2,
Ali Masjid G-7/2, G-8 Markaz, G-9 Markaz, Imam Bargah Al-Saadiq G-9/2, F-10
Markaz, F-11 Markaz, Bhekha Syedan, West Service Road, Sector F-11 & G-11,
G-11 Markaz, G-10 Markaz, G-9 Markaz, Jamia-ul.Murtaza G-9/4, , Khyber
Chowk, Kashmir Highway and back to Pakistan Sports Complex.
IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat has said that Islamabad police have ensured
detailed security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. He said that police
would accomplish responsibility in an efficient manner to ensure protection
to lives and property of citizens. He also directed to launch an effective
search operation within their jurisdictions including slum areas where most
of the inhabitants are Afghans. He said operati0nal police men have been
assigned duties and special control room has been established to ensure
effective coordination among all wings of Islamabad police and assisting
security agencies.
SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has also said that purpose of this flag march
is to show preparations of police and other law enforcement agencies during
the Muhram ul Haram to counter any challenge and maintain peace in the
city. He also directed all the SDPOs and the SHOs to make effective
security arrangements in this regard in their respective areas. He added
that Islamabad Police would maintain a close liaison with peace committees
and organizers of Muharram majalis and processions. He added that Islamabad
Police have made full preparations for high alert security on the eve of
Muharram Ul Haram and duty roasters have been compiled. The SSP Islamabad
said that strict security should be made and entry of irrelevant person,
car or motorbike within 200 yards should be banned around all gatherings.
He also appealed citizens to inform local police in case of finding any
suspect or unattended luggage so that timely action could be taken. He said
that Muharram ul Haram is a sacred month and all officials should
accomplish their responsibilities in an effective manner.
