4th Annual BanningPass Air Assault Tournament

  • All coaches please, check in at 11:00 am.
  • All pool games and 1st round of the elimination bracket will be 40 minutes (2-20 minute halves). All other play off games will be 40 minutes (2-20 minute halves) and finish last possession.
  • One 60 second time out per half.
  • All 16 teams will be placed in the championship playoff bracket. Playoff bracket seeding will be based on overall wins, and if needed based on points scored, then points allowed, then 2014 overall record.
  • Any problems contact Coach Stockham at the tournament tent.
  • 25 T-shirts and championship trophy to winning team.
  • Trophy to Runner-up
  • Rules, schedule, points, timing, etc… inside.
  • Be sure to bring shade, and plenty of ice and water.

Rules

  1. Games will start on time. All games in pool play and in the 1st round of the 16 team bracket playoff will be 40 minutes, continuous running clock. The remaining bracket games will be 40 minutes, and finishing drive. There will be five minute half time break. There will be a 10 minute break between games. Please, help us run the tournament efficiently by being prepared to start the games on time.
  2. Officials are volunteers and their decisions will be final. Please, contact the Tournament Director (John Stockham) if there are any problems.
  3. Coin toss will determine choice of offense or defense to start the game.
  4. The scoring will be 6 points for a touchdown, 1 point for an extra point from the 5 yard line, and 2 points for an interception. Total points at end of game will determine winner. Tie breakers will be used to break all ties. All interceptions stand as 2 points even after allotted time.
  5. Tie breaker will be a four play drive from the 20 yard line, alternating until there is a winner. If defense intercepts a pass before it has been on offense, the game is over).
  6. This is a 7 on 7 tournament, so only seven players may participate on any given play. The defense may start with eight players as long as one player takes a knee at the start of the play (8th player may not have contact or interfere with another player). Violation is an automatic first down at the spot of the infraction. The defense may not rush the quarterback.
  7. Offensively empty formations are allowed.
  8. The offense will have 3.5 seconds to throw the ball. Violation is loss of down.
  9. The offense will begin its drive on the 40 yard line, having three plays to get a first down at the 20 yard line. Once at the 20 yard line, the offense will have 4 plays to score. If unsuccessful the team will turn the ball over on downs. The offense will also lose possessions on turnovers.
  10. Players are down with touch of the hand. Absolutely no contact above the neck.
  11. The offense will be allowed to throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage if the receiver is outside the tackle position.
  12. The offense is allowed as many run or draw plays as they wish per set of downs. However, No blocking is allowed (no contact stationary screen is permitted).
  13. Sportsmanship is mandatory. Players or coaches exhibiting poor sportsmanship may be ejected for a game, and disqualified from the tournament for repeated or flagrant violations.
  14. All 16 teams will advance to the championship bracket. Championship bracket will be seeded following pool play. Playoff bracket will be posted at the tournament director’s tent immediately following the lunch break.
  15. All other CIF rules apply and may be used at the discretion of the referees as they apply to tournament play.
