Minutes of Walsall Meeting, 10th June 2015

The meeting was preceded by working groups.

Balraj took the Chair at 2pm and the meeting began with a welcome for Abs Bashir, incoming AIMp nominee and a round of introductions.

Minutes and Actions from May

The group ran through the minutes with updates on the actions.

The May notes had contained reference to a change in sexual health SLA – this should have read PGD. There were no further revisions to the notes.

CCG & Medicines Management Update

Sexual health training 6th & 7th July

Malkit asked for guidance on x-border arrangements.

►Update – services in the local area provided by Rajja/MPhillips chain, Lloyds Kingstanding and BSB Pharmacy, Shady Lane.

Balraj enquired about ooh palliative care services – none available in Birmingham. Service currently under AT review. Action not expected till the autumn.

Service Provision

Hema gave the group performance figures over a 12 month period (approx):

Pharmacy First ~ 18500 consultations

EHC ~1200, 10% of clients accepted/returned a kit, 21% were followed up

Palliative care 22 call-outs

NMS 43/76 contractors active → 5460 consultations

MUR 61/76 contractors active → 21300 consultations

Medicines Management Group – see report

Balraj reported there had been allegations of pharmacies “losing” Rxs collected or posted from Lantern House. A discussion of the processes revealed a number of opportunities for errors.

As CRI are commissioned to run the Walsall service LPC welcome the opportunity to explore more robust processes eg faxback form to verify contents of any envelope included in mailings from CRI, Birmingham.

Walsall CRI will be located at The Beacon, Bradford Street.

Introductory meeting with CRI at Savoy Suite, Walsall FC this evening.

‘Flu service Due to changes in AT structure (merging Birmingham, Solihull & Black Country & Arden, Hereford & Worcester ATs) there have been further delays - Dr Ash Bannerjee is meeting with our Imms Team June 10th to review the ‘flu service.

The Chair of Dudley LPC, Dan Attry, has a meeting scheduled with Dr B Thursday 11th June. Details will be posted on the website as soon as available.

There are also training issues to consider once we have a better idea of the commissioning intentions.

Black Country Cluster Report – in DBx and circulated separately to avoid repetition. Hema’s assistance with holiday rotas had been mentioned by WMAS colleagues and the CO thanked her for her continuing support.
