Weekly Newsletter: No: 31
Email Address October 25, 2011
Dear Mums & Dads,
Family Support: Thanks to the Yr 3/4/5/6 families getting along to the Working Bee this Thursday. Of course all families have the opportunity to ‘jump-in’ and help our Parents & Friends Committee with the running of our St Gabriel’s Fete (St Gabriel’s World Fare). We are all ‘gearing-up’ for November 12. Please help-out, the success of the Fete depends on us all helping out and inviting relatives and friends along.
School Closed: This Friday October 28 (Teacher Development) & Tuesday November 1 (Melbourne Cup)
St Gabriel’s is closed this Friday – all staff will be attending our fifth day of professional development on Contemporary Teaching and Learning of Mathematics at Dallas Brooks Hall, East Melbourne. Of course all Melbourne closes on the first Tuesday in November for the annual running of the Melbourne Cup. Enjoy!! Good Luck!!
School Open: Monday October 31: Please return form - bottom of page 1 of Newsletter (Thank you).
Many of our students/families also take the Monday before the Melbourne Cup as a holiday. To help with our organisation please return the form in the Newsletter today indicating if your child/ren will or will not be attending school next Monday, October 31. This will give us the opportunity to send some staff to update their First Aid Certificates without having to be replaced.
Year 3-4-5-6 Working Bee: Thursday October 27
Thanks to all families for returning the Newsletter response – particularly of course those mums and dads able to get along to the Working Bee this Thursday afternoon. Thanks also to the staff – we have at least two of us getting along to Working Bees at St Gabriel’s and the schools our children attend – we should be getting good at it!!
“Australiana”: Many of our classes are studying Australia during Term Four. Nothing sets Australia apart more colloquially, particularly in Melbourne, than the running and celebrations surrounding the Melbourne Cup! – Fair Dinkum. Have a wonderful day next Tuesday
Best wishes,
Brian Booley (Principal)
