Video Assignment 1B

Assignment: Choose one of the transformations below and create a video of you performing the transformation(s). In your video your must explain how you do the transformation(s). Your video should be at least 1 minute long.

You may either upload your video to your youtube account and email me a link () , or copy your video file to a USB drive, and tape it to a piece of paper with your name on it. Include your name and a short description of your video.

Problems to choose from:

1)Double Transformation on Coordinate Grid (i.e., x-y-axes)– Take a pre-image and perform two transformations in a row on it (e.g., a reflection and then a translation, or a rotation and then a dilation). You must use two different transformations (i.e., you can’t do a translation and then another translation). Clearly show and state your original coordinates, both sets of transformed coordinates, and a single algebraic rule that describes how you got from your original image to your final image.

2)Dilation (not on Coordinate Grid) – draw a pre-image that includes curvy lines (can’t be a heart or a gingerbread man), and perform a dilation on it using a dilation point (i.e., not on a set of x-y axes). Clearly state your scale factor, show your dilation point, show the points you chose to dilate, and explain why you chose those points.

Grading: This video will count as one quiz grade.

Due Date: I must receive your videoby 11:59pm on ______.

Extra Credit:Make a second video, of the other transformation.

Grading

Content: 50 points

Transformations must be performed correctly, algebraic rule must be expressed correctly, etc.

Explanations: 40 points

Verbal descriptions of the transformations must be clear and accurate. (Note that you can NOT create a video without any talking.) Other suggestions about things to talk about in your video: challenges you faced and how you overcame them; mistakes you made and how you corrected them; things you didn’t understand at first but understand now, etc.)

Video quality: 10 points

Video should be clear (not blurry) and RIGHT SIDE UP. Audio should be audible and easy to understand.
