43. Sensory Figure-Conquistadors- Draw a simple figure of a conquistador. Describe with labels what he might have been seeing, hearing, saying, feeling or doing--- to show the thoughts, feelings and experiences of historical figures.

45. Coronado Cartoon- create a six panel cartoon over the experiences of Coronado. All cartoons must have captions, pictures and be colored. Neatness counts!!!

47. La Salle pyramid-Draw a triangle on your page that takes up the entire paper. Take notes on the following subjects as you read pages 113-115:Trip over/landing and the set up of the colony/problems of the colony and the end of the colony.

48. Talon Letter-Pretend you are Marie Talon and write about your experience as one of La Salle’s colonists. A handout will be provided in class to use.

49. Explorers foldable- Take 2 sheets of construction paper, overlap the sheets leaving about an inch, then fold in half. You should have 4 sections. Title your page Explorers Foldable. Under the title label tab 1 Coronado, tab 2 Desoto/Moscoso, tab 3 Onate, and tab 4 LaSalle. Under the tab write a description of what each person discovered and draw a simple illustration.

Split your page in half long ways. Draw the outline of a person. On one side draw a Native American before Spanish intervention, on the other side show the change once the person moved into a mission.

57. Mission Timeline- students will create a timeline over the key event from Ch. 5 over the development of missions in Texas. The timeline should cover the years of 16 82 through 1790 when Spain ended funding to missions.The timeline should include 10 events and 4 illustrations.

65. Revolutionary foldable Use construction paper folded in half and cut into 5 strips on one side. List the names of leaders on the outside strip and write a description of what they did on the inside. Did this in class-had a special handout!

67. Gifts from Spain 4 square -Divide your paper into 4 squares, then using each square draw a picture in each box that tells the story of what Texas has today because of the Spanish. At least 4 items need to be included in your art work with an explanation of what each picture shows. Make sure it is colored and takes up the whole page.
