Attendance:

Members Present:

Mike Ballone, Mary Benson, Cheryl Cassano, Tanya Coronado, Natalie Cushnir, Laure DeJeant, Rob Ericksen, Jenny Hammerle, Suellen Heskett, Faith Kraemer, Melania Lavezzi, Kim Manion, Michael Meechin, Amy Parrish, Stacy Thompson, John Warner.

Guests Present:

Rocio Flores, Nirmala Atkinson, Jim MacGregor, Sheila Burrell.

Welcome and Call to Order:

1.  The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m.

2.  Motions: Faith makes a motion to approve electronic minutes. Mary Benson seconds. Motion passes.

Principal Report by Mr. Ballone:

1.  Effective January 3rd Ms. Manion will take over as new principal. New MS Assistant Principal will be announced December 13, 2016 at the School Board Meeting.

2.  Facility:

a.  Exterior Campus: painting touchups are underway.

b.  Interior Campus:

  1. Painting continues, working to create cohesive look.
  2. Cafeteria remodel of food service lines will take place 2017.
  3. New Roof will be scheduled for 2017-2018 schoolyear.

3.  Guidance Department: January 11th there will be a High School Options Night.

4.  Curriculum Report: FSA Dates will be posted in January 2017 on the school website.

New Principal Update by Ms. Manion)

1.  I-ready: Finishing up second diagnostic detailing growth.

2.  Report Cards will be sent home home January 19th.

3.  International Baccalaureate Program presented regarding program acceptance and the School Choice Application Process which is scheduled to close February 28th. See Portal for Application.

4.  Enrollment is 1378. Next year’s projection is 1500.

5.  Other Discussion:

a.  January 13th there will be a MS Rewar Party for No Absences/ No Tardees.

b.  MS Spirit Week proceeds will benefit 2nd Harvest Food Bank.

c.  January 5th= next Pride $ No Uniform Day

d.  January 13th Pride Store will be open.

e.  Headliners will perform Arctic Shadows January 20th & 21st

Treasurers Report by Vanessa Winter:

1.  Current balance/ carry-over balance from last year is $1,176.41.

Open Forum and Special Reports:

1.  ESTA Tennis Academy will offer afterschool tennis program, winter camp during winter break, coupons for free tennis classes, as well as day camps and overnight summer camps.

2.  Mr. MacGregor discussed the possibility of a parent/ teacher conference night or event.

3.  School choice will likely place us at capacity.

4.  Rob Ericksen makes motion to adjourn SAC Meeting.

a.  Second made by Stacy Thompson.

b.  Meeting adjourned at 5:25 PM
