7:15 a.m. doors open, breakfast served

7:35 a.m. students to class, breakfast ends

7:45 a.m. tardy bell

3:00 p.m. dismissal

Grades K-2 wait in the cafeteria until the 7:35 a.m. bell

Grades 3-5 wait in the gym until the 7:35 a.m. bell

Birthdays

Students’ birthdays are recognized on the KPAW morning announcements. A student receives a birthday pencil and sticker on his birthday. Please do NOT send birthday treats or treat bags for your child’s birthday.

Lunch Visitors

Kindergarten lunch visitors are encouraged to attend lunch beginning the week of September 19. First through fourth grade lunch visitors are encouraged to attend lunch beginning the week of August 29. Thank you in advance for assisting us in establishing the procedures and expectations for lunch.

For lunch, there is a five food group menu which includes meat, grain, fruit or juice (not both), two vegetables, and milk.

Your child may bring his lunch or purchase a lunch. You have the opportunity to pay for your child’s lunch by sending a check or paying online – – Parent Resources Tab – Meal Payments.

P.E./Recess

Physical Education Class required dress

  • Tennis Shoes (no cleats, always laced and tied)
  • Shorts under girl’s dress or skirts
  • Loose fitting clothing, allowing for movement, during various activities

Recess required dress

  • Rubber-soled shoes with closed toes and fully enclosed heel
  • Shoes should be always laced and tied
  • No Crocs, imitation Crocs, or sandals are permitted

School Supplies – Wrap Packs

If you select to purchase a wrap pack, it will be delivered to your child’s classroom in August.

School supplies are used as a community supplies in the classroom.

Tuesday Newsday

Each Tuesday your child will bring home his Tuesday Newsday folder with important papers and messages from school and/or the teacher. Please review the items and have your child return the folder on Wednesday.

Traffic Flow

If your child is being picked up in the car ride line, the Bluebonnet staff is requesting that you stay in your car to drop off or pick up your child. Make sure you have the school year’s current car tag.

If you reside in a neighborhood that is eligible for bus service, please drop off or pick up your child on the west side of the campus (cafeteria door side). The neighborhoods are: Fall Brook, neighborhoods off of Duncan Lane, Towne View, Red Oak Lane, Bryn Mar, Bakers Branch, Village Oaks Mobile Home Community, Lakeside DFW, and Creekside at Heritage

If you reside in a neighborhood that is not eligible for bus service, please drop off or pick your child at the front of the campus. The neighborhoods are: Shadow Ridge Phase 1 and Phase 2, Shadow Ridge South, Archstone Shadow Ridge Apartments, Reserve Court, Fox Borough, Cedar Bluff, and Bella Strada

If you are a part of car pool, please decide which car line you will use throughout the school year.

Note: Walkers are dismissed at the back doors near the gym.

Visitors

Parents and others are welcome to visit our campus. We encourage parents to visit our school and actively participate in the education of our students.

The safety of your child is of utmost importance. For the safety of those within the school and to avoid disruption of instructional time, allvisitors must first report to the office upon entering the building to receive a visitor’s sticker.

Volunteers

LISD volunteer applications must be completed every three years to volunteer in the classroom, throughout the campus, attend a field trip, etc. To complete a volunteer/background check, go to -

Walking Your Child to Class

You may walk your child to his classroom the first week of school.
