Grant Regional Health Career Scholarship

Grant Regional Health Center Foundation will award two $1,000 healthcare scholarships to individuals beginning or continuing their enrollment in a healthcare program. Martha Maxwell Memorial Scholarship

SWE-WI is pleased to announce the application period for the 2017-2018 Martha Maxwell Memorial Scholarship Program.is now open. This program will award two (2) $1000 scholarship to a currently enrolled female student who is pursuing a degree in engineering. Your college has been selected as eligible for this scholarship.

Scholarship applications, including support material, must be electronically submitted no later than January 31, 2018. Applications will be evaluated based on academic achievement, references, extracurricular activities, and a personal essay. P.E.O. Chapter BN, Platteville Scholarship

P.E.O. Chapter BN is an organization that takes an active role in the promotion of educational opportunities for women. Our organization provides ways to assist women whose education is their goal. You must be currently enrolled as a UW-P full-time female student (12 credits) and have at least a GPA of 2.8. The amount of the scholarship is $250 may be used for any school-related needs, and is not limited to tuition or fees. In addition to the application, please include a letter addressing the following:

· Financial need and why

· Community service

· Leadership in service or school related clubs

· State goals related to career path

· Describe how an important female influenced you in your life.

Women in Engineering Empowerment Scholarship

Women are still very much under-represented in STEM fields both in higher education and in industry. Our goal is to help equip one female student overcome this gender gap by offering $1,000 toward her studies in science, technology, engineering, or math.

Who Can Apply?

Females only

  • Must be pursuing a degree in STEM: science, technology, engineering or math
  • Can be an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Open to students attending a US or Canadian institution
  • Entrants must be 17 years or older
  • No GPA requirement

Criteria

Write a 500 word essay answering the following question: What do you think can be done to improve representation of women in STEM fields?

Things to consider while developing your ideas:

  • Enthusiasm – Passion is great, share it!
  • Originality – Do you have ideas that schools, governments or industry have not thought about or previously applied to improve representation?
  • Forward Thinking – How do you see the future shaping representation?
  • Deployment – How can your idea be effectively deployed? What would be some of the obstacles to overcome?

As part of the submission package please include the following information:

  • Full name
  • College or University where you are enrolled or plan to attend
  • College/University email address
  • Current year in school

The winner will be announced by September, 1st 2018.
