VACANCY – regimental support supervisor

PURPOSE OF JOB
The Regimental Support Supervisor is responsible for the Technical Support Services in the GMC Regiment maintenance facility. The appointed Supervisor will take full responsibility for all the activities in his Regiment.
The Supervisor works within the client’s environment with trained Technicians of different cultures. He therefore has the responsibility to train and supervise the people on an ongoing process. Liaison with the other Regimental Support Supervisors, the Telecoms Specialist Advisor, the client’s own personnel and the Artillery Support Manager is a key function and on an ongoing process.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  1. Keep the Regiment (24 x H45 Guns) operational
  2. User liaison, visit Batteries on a regular basis
  3. Ensure continuous training of the client’s personnel
  4. Failure reporting
  5. Record fleet management data
  6. Manage the allocated personnel of the client – 10 to 15 Technicians
  7. Plan and control preventive maintenance programs
  8. Responsible for own quality of maintenance
  9. Represent the company at Battery and Regimental level
  10. Configuration control of all systems
  11. Manage stock levels for maintenance
  12. Responsible for the Laying and Navigation equipment on all Guns including software status and serial number history
  13. Responsible for ad hoc technical support for marketing purposes and other requirements which arise from time to time
  14. User assistance during field exercises and reporting
  15. Assist in LTPS requirements
  16. Manage Gun History data H45
  17. Ensure the availability of the H45 fleet in the regiment
  18. Supervision and training of DLS as well as client personnel
  19. Maintenance of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment
  20. Quality assurance
  21. Scheduling maintenance activities
  22. Spares and commodity planning
  23. Liaison with client at battery and regimental commander level

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Technical qualification N6 or equivalent
  • Qualified artisan (Diesel Mechanic/ Fitter and Turner with basic electric/electronic knowledge
  • Detail H45 technical maintenance experience, Turret and Vehicle, mechanical and electrical- 5 years
  • Laying and Navigation equipment experience
  • Working in a foreign environment experience
  • Military operational support – 5 years
