INTRA-DISTRICT OPEN ENROLLMENT TRANSFER

Application Period 2016-2017

Parents/Guardians,

Although students are generally expected to attend school in their zoned attendance area, California Education Code and the policies of the Board of Education allow various options for students wanting to attend school outside their resident attendance area.

The official "Intra-District Open Enrollment Transfer” application period is being held November 2, 2015, through December 4, 2015. Students who want to attend a school other than their resident school for the 2016-2017 school year must submit an application during this designated time period to be included in the random, unbiased lottery to determine the students' lottery selection number for each school by grade level. Only one application and one school requested will be accepted for each student.

The lottery will be held on January 21, 2016, in the Chino Valley Unified School District board room located at 5130 Riverside Drive in Chino. Parents will be notified via mail on February 5, 2016. Parent/Guardian does not need to be present to receive a lottery number.

Priority is given to siblings of students who have established residency in the requested school. Next priority is given to students whose parent/guardian is assigned to the requested school as his/her primary place of employment. Residency established through the Intra-District Open Enrollment process applies only to the elementary, junior high, or high school that granted the transfer. In other words, if you desire your student to remain in the transfer school's feeder pattern, then a new Intra-District Open Enrollment transfer request must be submitted for 7th and 9th grades.

Applications for all school transfers are available only at the office of Student Support Services, 13453 Ramona Ave, Chino, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

·  The office of Student Support Services will be closed November 11, 2015 and November 23 – November 27, 2015.

NOTE: Parents/Guardians living outside the Chino Valley Unified School District boundaries, and want their student to attend a CVUSD school, should contact their district of residence for an Inter-district Transfer request permit.
